THE NEWS OF SYMI March 2009
The News of Symi is an English language newspaper aiming to give an impartial and rounded view in English of what is happening in this small corner of Greece. It is published by the Municipal Cultural Centre and produced by SymiGreece.com, a not-for-profit website for Symi that receives no money for producing this paper. Despite it being a Municipal publication, The News of Symi is an independent newspaper; its content and appearance are decided by the editors, without any influence from the Municipality.

Vets for Symi
FAROS is a new initiative by the Friends of the Animals of Symi and SymiGreece.com to bring Greek vets to the island to look after, care for and protect Symi’s animals (pets, strays and also work and farm animals).
The initiative has the formal support of the Municipality of Symi.

Municipality Closes
The Municipality of Symi closed for business until further notice as a way of protest over the lack of a direct ferry connection with Pireus. A committe will now go to the Ministry of Mercantile Marine and hand the Municipality keys to the Minister, Mr Manolis Kefalogiannis.
